Praise Worthy

Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Oh well...on to more praise worthy thoughts.
Exo 15:13 Thou in thy lovingkindness hast led the people that thou hast redeemed: Thou hast guided them in thy strength to thy holy habitation.
Exo 15:14 The peoples have heard, they tremble: Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.
Exo 15:15 Then were the chiefs of Edom dismayed; The mighty men of Moab, trembling taketh hold upon them: All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away.
Exo 15:16 Terror and dread falleth upon them; By the greatness of thine arm they are as still as a stone; Till thy people pass over, O Jehovah, Till the people pass over that thou hast purchased.
Exo 15:17 Thou wilt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, The place, O Jehovah, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, The sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
Exo 15:18 Jehovah shall reign for ever and ever.

So Sick

I am truly so sick of all these evil blogs parading around as ministries.

Who in the world are they ministering to? The hob nob of the big wheels? The Lord pulled me out of all that flesh when He saved me.

I certainly have no desire to hob nob and I won't settle for any form of abuse in the name of God. I saw way too much abuse in the name of satan before I was saved to even think I have to put up with it.

Thank you Lord!

Spurgeons "All Of Grace"

Sunday, January 29, 2006
You know... on further inspection I do wonder about the very first intro on this article by Spurgeon. It goes as following.

An Earnest Word with Those Who Are Seeking Salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ

The funny thing about it...I know I didn't seek Christ..He sought and found me!

Strange.

Loving the Underdog

Friday, January 27, 2006
I don't know why but I'm always drawn to the look of the underdog.

I do say "look" of the underdog because looks can be decieving.

I think of what it must have looked like with the Lord on that cross...spitting on Him and yelling...hey man..save yourself. Giving Him vinegar to drink and spliting up His clothes.

What it must have "looked" like.

There must be some reason the coined saying means so much to me..You can't judge a book by it's cover.

Perceptions

Tuesday, January 24, 2006
I guess that idols deal with perceptions.

The JW's I dealt with saw a jewelry cross as an idol...I saw it as a piece of metal.

Spurgeon saw family provision as an idol...I see it as Godly responsibility.

Sometimes it is how one views things more than the thing in and of itself.

Thank you Lord!

Somewhat at Odds

Monday, January 23, 2006
I am still somewhat at odds in trying to read Spurgeon. How can someone be so right on in one article and so off in a devotion?

I personally have seen way too much skipping out on families to ever consider family provision as an "idol". It is sort of like the JW's that came knocking on my door and tried to tell me the jewlry cross I was wearing was an "idol".

I told them hey man...it is just a piece of metal.

What is wrong with all these weird people?

The Lord Really Drives Home A Point

Saturday, January 21, 2006
The Lord works in mysterious ways. I had never read any Spurgeon before just lately.

I sort of knew in my heart of hearts that the Lord had me reading the first articles in a wrong frame of mind, but He had me do it anyway...sort of like the two times He had me dress really weird and go to church.

If the Lord has never had you dress really strange and out of character and then go to church I highly recommend it. It really shows who your friends are..or should I say..it really shows who your friends ain't.

I read an article once on this rich man that took to living homeless and living out of trash cans and dumpsters for a year. I need to try and find that article again. I wonder if the guy was Christian.

From Spurgeons -All of Grace

Friday, January 20, 2006
I have never read much written by men but this All of Grace by Spurgeon is awesome! just a sample...I highly recommend reading it!

I have seen with my own eyes such marvellous changes of moral and spiritual character that I despair of none. I could, if it were fitting, point out those who were once unchaste women who are now pure as the driven snow, and blaspheming men who now delight all around them by their intense devotion. Thieves are made honest, drunkards sober, liars truthful, and scoffers zealous. Wherever the grace of God has appeared to a man it has trained him to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present evil world: and, dear reader, it will do the same for you."I cannot make this change," says one. Who said you could? The Scripture which we have quoted speaks not of what man will do, but of what God will do. It is God's promise, and it is for Him to fulfill His own engagements. Trust in Him to fulfill His Word to you, and it will be done.

One Repentance in Christ

One repentance-

There is only one repentance in Christ then blessings-One repentance in Christ and then remission and conforming unto His image.

If you find one claiming repent, then repent again, then repent again..they are an imposter.

Heb 6:4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Heb 6:5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,
Heb 6:6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Heb 6:7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God:

Warm Water Faith

Thursday, January 19, 2006
I had to laugh at the news today.

They showed a baptism in sub degree temps in Moscow. They had cut a big hole in the ice. The priest stood there and said the water was warm for those that believed. I just laughed and thought it probably was...but the Lord didn't call everyone to get out of the boat to walk on the water either.

Lilies

Lilies

Luk 12:27
(ASV) Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not,
neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Solomon in
all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

I take this to mean that in Christ you need not worry about
the past..the future..the moment is where we live.

Praise God!

Often I have thought when contemplating streets of gold in heaven, that Christ would be all one needed.Just to sit at His feet and adore Him.

Christ is joy! Praise God!

Spurgeon Morning Devotion

Morning
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion.
-
Rev_14:1
The apostle John was privileged to look within the gates of heaven, and in describing what he saw, he begins by saying, I looked, and, lo, a Lamb! This teaches us that the chief object of contemplation in the heavenly state is the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. Nothing else attracted the apostles attention so much as the person of that Divine Being, who hath redeemed us by his blood. He is the theme of the songs of all glorified spirits and holy angels. Christian, here is joy for thee; thou hast looked, and thou hast seen the Lamb. Through thy tears thine eyes have seen the Lamb of God taking away thy sins. Rejoice, then. In a little while, when thine eyes shall have been wiped from tears, thou wilt see the same Lamb exalted on his throne. It is the joy of thy heart to hold daily fellowship with Jesus; thou shalt have the same joy to a higher degree in heaven; thou shalt enjoy the constant vision of his presence; thou shalt dwell with him for ever. I looked, and, lo, a Lamb! Why, that Lamb is heaven itself; for as good Rutherford says, Heaven and Christ are the same thing; to be with Christ is to be in heaven, and to be in heaven is to be with Christ. That prisoner of the Lord very sweetly writes in one of his glowing letters-O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without thee, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have thee still, it would be a heaven to me, for thou art all the heaven I want. It is true, is it not, Christian? Does not thy soul say so?
Not all the harps above
Can make a heavenly place,
If God his residence remove,
Or but conceal his face.
All thou needest to make thee blessed, supremely blessed, is to be with Christ.

Fair Weather

Friday, January 13, 2006
The Lord is so good.

For the second year in a row my hubby's birthday sported fair weather. Yesterday was wonderful and we took a short road trip into North Carolina on the bike. Ate at a Sagebrush and just goofed around.

I have thought and prayed about all the things I have seen on the web that cause the Lord's peace to leave me and have determined I just need to stay clear of it all.

I guess just praying, Father forgive them they don't understand, along with keeping distance until they do understand is all one can do.

In the meantime I will just praise the Lord in all His goodness.

Praise God!

Hard Task Master?

Thursday, January 12, 2006
Our Lord is not a hard task master. One that would sacrifice those He came to save. One that would drive us to ignore family responsibilities or point guilt in taking care of their needs.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Manipulation

Tuesday, January 10, 2006
I still can't get over it.

How in the world could someone write a "devotion" and try to make something Godly, like providing for your family, into something bad? On top of that with some sort of boasting..look at me I give all to Christ, bullock that I am, (like trusting Christ is going to turn you into some work beast).

Pure out and out attempt at manipulation with a twisting of scripture.

I need to just pray for the situation and leave it be. It truly has angered me however.

I give it to the Lord.

Dear Mr. Spurgeon

Saturday, January 07, 2006
Dear Mr. Spurgeon,
How heavy art thou sir? Might I see your great suffering as more than my Lord?

My business? It was laid down to an unbelieving partner. Such squat.

My family? Many left me for Christ's name sake. They were never my true family.

My friends? They turned their backs on a new person in Christ. They were never really friends.

The weight of it all...Oh the burden of the Lord, Mr Spurgeon !

The joy of the Lord is my strength.

May you be a bullock if that is your wish. No...its not all easy Mr. Spurgeon, but let my motto be... I will glory in the joy of my Lord.

Isa 35:10

(ASV) and the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Spurgeon Morning Devotion

January 7

Morning
For me to live is Christ.
-
Phi_1:21
The believer did not always live to Christ. He began to do so when God the Holy Spirit convinced him of sin, and when by grace he was brought to see the dying Saviour making a propitiation for his guilt. From the moment of the new and celestial birth the man begins to live to Christ. Jesus is to believers the one pearl of great price, for whom we are willing to part with all that we have. He has so completely won our love, that it beats alone for him; to his glory we would live, and in defence of his gospel we would die; he is the pattern of our life, and the model after which we would sculpture our character. Pauls words mean more than most men think; they imply that the aim and end of his life was Christ-nay, his life itself was Jesus. In the words of an ancient saint, he did eat, and drink, and sleep eternal life. Jesus was his very breath, the soul of his soul, the heart of his heart, the life of his life. Can you say, as a professing Christian, that you live up to this idea? Can you honestly say that for you to live is Christ? Your business-are you doing it for Christ? Is it not done for self- aggrandizement and for family advantage? Do you ask, Is that a mean reason? For the Christian it is. He professes to live for Christ; how can he live for another object without committing a spiritual adultery? Many there are who carry out this principle in some measure; but who is there that dare say that he hath lived wholly for Christ as the apostle did? Yet, this alone is the true life of a Christian-its source, its sustenance, its fashion, its end, all gathered up in one word-Christ Jesus. Lord, accept me; I here present myself, praying to live only in thee and to thee. Let me be as the bullock which stands between the plough and the altar, to work or to be sacrificed; and let my motto be, Ready for either.

...oh and before I forget ...incomplete scripture...To live is Christ..but to die is gain.

Of course one can't know the gain if they never truly die.
