Living Water

Well... it now seems that James Dobson believes that Spongebob Squarepants is gay.

Interested to find out.... I found this link concerning sexual habits of the sponge.

Since sponges have no animal sexual organs they are typically asexual, although at times there is a meeting of sperm and egg through water turmoil, they will regrow new sponge from small pieces cut from itself.

Article on sponge reproduction

So how can Spongebob be gay?

Something to do with the messenger, We Are Family Foundation, requesting respect to others decisions.

While I do appreciate the warning Mr Dobson...I prefer to believe Christ bigger than a cartoon sponge.

I will not shake in my boots in Spongebob's presence but calmly realize that asexual sponges (and cartoon at that) have no power over my life or family.

Wanted: A Few Court Jesters
To deflate the egos of those too serious about themselves
by- Monte E. Wilson III

Accordingly, I believe that one of the more needed ministries today is that of Court Jester. Someone needs to be appointed to throw a pie in the face of the next “man of the hour.” Rather than crying out “Amen!”, the Jester would begin slapping his knees and screaming, “What a hoot!”

Furthermore, each time our earnest friend began doing his best imitation of Charlton Heston playing Moses, the Jester would yell, “I nominate this line for the Top Ten Pontifications of the Week award!” As Shakespeare wrote—“that idiot, laughter, so hateful to our purpose.” (King John)

Attending a convention in Boston, Mass. I drew conclusion from evidence that the cabbies delight in seeing if they can get a good old southerner to scream.

This was years ago and my companions at the time also commented on our wild ride to the Ritz Carlton.

Dinner was being served there after our meeting, so we all loaded into the cab as if a carnival ride would smooth an empty stomach.

Upon arrival we then were told that at the Ritz they preferred their patrons remain strangers.

We promptly removed our name tags, somewhat distressed that we had forgotten our names blazoned across our chests.

I can't for the life of me remember what I ordered.

I do remember a distant lady and her duck that she complained too greasy.
I remember lavish bottles of wine and a waiter that seemed to never leave my side.

It seems odd to me that the cab ride was more memorable than my entree from the Ritz.

Was it scallops perhaps?

I know that if I ever return I will document the meal.

People that view sin as a moral issue are so hard to talk to.
When one views sin as a sickness as opposed to moral the two can not communicate.

To say one loves the sinner but hates the sin is so easy when you view sin as sickness. It is sort of like saying...I love my neighbor but hate the cancer that is eating them alive.

Moral viewers can not conceive this concept. They look down their noses in righteousness, or to the opposite extreme they will accept sin as being Godly.

Sin is in no way Godly a bit more than cancer is Godly.

God is whole and Holy, not sick and cancerous.

While righteous and Holy, He performs justice with mercy.

Righteous and loving! What a great combination!

One of my Christmas presents was a cookbook for a cure. "Star Palate..celebrity cookbook for a cure" proceeds dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.

I decided to try Susan Lucci's Spagetti & Meatballs.

By the time I was finished I am sure it didn't resemble her idea of spagetti.

I had added...green bell pepper, a packet of good seasons italian dressing, about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, about a teaspoon of garlic salt, more black pepper, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, an 1/8 cup red cooking wine and last but not least a teaspoon of minced jalapeno pepper.

I had a spagetti to kick butt!

Do the stars have a sensitive palate I wondered? The original recipe looked like spagetti and smelled like spagetti...but where in the world was that punch? I had to improvise.

Good thing.... it was for a good cause.

Like the cookbook states..... she somehow finds time to cook between kidnappings, marriages, and plane crashes.

I was wondering if she takes time to taste.

Maybe its just me?

I was reading about the obsessed food blogs on the net and I realized that while I am obsessed with cooking I am not an all out food snob.

I love coupon clippers that will settle for yesterday's bananas in the reduced produce isle to make a lucious bread ,or savy cooks that throw together the leftovers for a mystery stew.

Most food blogs are not that way.

They will snub your day old bread while you just invent a bread pudding.

Like the old saying goes...Sometimes life throws you lemons so make lemonade!

Well since my obsessions run from Jesus... to food ....to laughter... to diet...to life... and back... it would be very hard for me to dedicate an all out "foodie" blog.

I guess my blog is much like that mystery stew.

Throw it all together and just see what you come up with.

Judgment And Mercy

Psalms 101:1 << Psalm of David.>> I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

Judgment and mercy!

A coin has two sides. If thrown into the air it will fall on one side or the other.

Much is the way of men. A message on the side of judgement or a message on the side of mercy.

The problem with these lopsided messages is that they are not "whole". Our God is not lopsided but a combination of both judgement and mercy.

There are three weightier matters of the law for men to consider.

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Judgment, mercy, and faith:

In consideration of these three weightier matters we can come to a conclusion. That our Lord is a hater of sin, but a lover and interceder for sinners.

We, as His children, also hate sin. We also, like our Lord, will intercede for sinners.

The slayer will always forget the Lord's mercy to slay the broken in heart.

Psalms 109:16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

Dear one, are you broken in heart? Has the slayer come that he might slay?

Trust in our Lord and His promises. He will show mercy to the turned and trusting.

Psalms 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Believe in His faithful forgivness and cleansing, confessing child!

We, like David, can sing of His judgement and mercy.

Unto thee Lord will we sing!

Let our prayer be ..Lord, allow us true judgment. Not a judgment for vanities sake but true judgment for your Holy Name's sake.

Zechariah 7:9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

Hosea 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

Praise God!

The New Year in often relaxes
Fa La La La La
La La.. La La

Tis the season to think about taxes
Fa La La La La
La La... La La

Good grief..No rest for the weary.

Finally got down the tree but still have lights hanging from house eaves.

I may take Gretchen Wilson's advice from "Red Neck Woman" and leave them hanging all year. They look especially pretty after a couple of beers.
