Judgment And Mercy

Psalms 101:1 << Psalm of David.>> I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

Judgment and mercy!

A coin has two sides. If thrown into the air it will fall on one side or the other.

Much is the way of men. A message on the side of judgement or a message on the side of mercy.

The problem with these lopsided messages is that they are not "whole". Our God is not lopsided but a combination of both judgement and mercy.

There are three weightier matters of the law for men to consider.

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Judgment, mercy, and faith:

In consideration of these three weightier matters we can come to a conclusion. That our Lord is a hater of sin, but a lover and interceder for sinners.

We, as His children, also hate sin. We also, like our Lord, will intercede for sinners.

The slayer will always forget the Lord's mercy to slay the broken in heart.

Psalms 109:16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

Dear one, are you broken in heart? Has the slayer come that he might slay?

Trust in our Lord and His promises. He will show mercy to the turned and trusting.

Psalms 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Believe in His faithful forgivness and cleansing, confessing child!

We, like David, can sing of His judgement and mercy.

Unto thee Lord will we sing!

Let our prayer be ..Lord, allow us true judgment. Not a judgment for vanities sake but true judgment for your Holy Name's sake.

Zechariah 7:9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

Hosea 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

Praise God!
