Notes on PDL

It all starts with God.
It is not about you.

Focus on self will never reveal your life purpose. Looking within is not the answer. God is your creator and only your creator knows what He created you for.

Your focus in looking for your life purpose must begin with God.
You were made for God and not the other way around.

Life is about letting God use you for His purposes, not you using God for yours.

Romans 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The carnal life is obsessed with self which is a dead end. The Spiritual life leads to peace and fullness of life.

You can have success at a carnal life. You can succeed in reaching a self made goal, but you will still miss the purpose for which you were created. It will not fulfill your need to find your true purpose.

Matthew 16:25  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Self help is no help. Self sacrifice is the way to finding your true self.

my personal notes-
Since I can do nothing without Christ this all seems a little work based oriented so far. I could be wrong and need to go further into the study.
I used KJV scripture while the original uses many versions.

In looking into the PDL situation I have found mostly people claiming it false.

I am sure many say it is not false teaching but they are not voicing their views as much.

Maybe just the objection to it tells much. I will continue research.

Link

Ashley Smith, the hostage taken by Nichols, talks about her ordeal in the above link.

What I saw about the whole thing was that through it all she appealed to the man's higher purpose in Christ.

She didn't condemn him or act better than he. She gained his trust through giving him hope in God.

What an awesome story.

It needs to go down in history along with all the biblical characters we so love.

Just read some interesting articles on a blog of a recovering Christian alcoholic.

His main theme throughout is the demonic aspects of alcohol and drugs. Hollywood druggies, AAA, recovery programs, recovered lives and lives that are no longer among the living due to addictions.

The funny thing...I started to leave a link ( then didn't) with my comment and felt my own alcohol convictions ( which are few since I don't have a problem) might hinder him in his efforts to rid the demon.

Afterward all I could think was..... if we drink any poison thing it will not harm us.

Why is alcohol so damaging to some while others can take or leave it?

There is now a doll that when you squeeze it scripture pours out.

Talking Doll

I was not raised in church so I didn't have scripture coach where I repeated verses like a mantra. It seems a lot like learning multiplication tables. I can't see the relationship in it.

Isn't Christ suppose to be relationship and not so much just getting scripture into the head?

Without the heart of scripture it really is nothing but mantra which is a form of witchcraft.

I never did learn my multiplication tables. How I got by is a little beyond my comprehension, but I did graduate High School.

You can't have relationship with multiplication tables...can one?

I was thinking the other day about John and how lonely it must have been on Patmos. Alone and imprisioned on some island. Of course the Lord was with him and his revelation written was a great purpose to be alone.

Sometimes walking that Christian line with Christ is lonely.

Thinking on it... none of the apostles had very friendly endings.
